THE MTC-Kilimanjaro Boxing Club is set to host its amateur boxing bonanza this Saturday in Oshakati.

Founder of the club, Joseph Benhard, announced that the event, titled “Young Shall Grow Part 6”, will take place at the Oshakati Independence Stadium.

Speaking during a media conference held in Oshakati on Wednesday, Benhard shared that the championship will showcase the raw talent and dedication of young boxers from across the region.

He emphasized that entrance to the venue will be free of charge.

“The tournament is expected to feature around 50 boxers from ten different boxing clubs, with 25 bouts scheduled for the evening,” he said.

Benhard added that the event promises an action-packed night of thrilling fights, focusing on skill development and sportsmanship. The bonanza aims to inspire the next generation of boxing champions while promoting the sport in the region.

Meanwhile, Joel Amwele, Secretary of the Oshana Boxing Federation for Amateur Boxing, said that this will be a significant event on the club boxing calendar, designed especially for the youth.

“With the holiday season starting, we want our youth to come and have fun while also developing an interest in the sport of boxing,” Amwele said.

He extended an invitation to all residents of the Oshana Region and surrounding areas to attend in large numbers and enjoy the tournament.

Amwele stressed that the tournament is open to all boxing clubs in the Oshana Region.
