THE body of Martin Waendama Shipo, a 58-year-old Namibian man, was found after he allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the Havana informal settlement in the capital.
According to the weekend crime bulletin, the incident happened on Saturday, 26 October 2024, around 16:42 at a house on Usakos Street, Havana.
It is reported that Shipo’s lifeless body was discovered lying on the bed in his bedroom, with a pistol in hand. Allegedly, the deceased’s girlfriend came home to find the door locked from the inside. After making several unanswered phone calls to his phone, she went to report the matter at a mobile police station in Havana. Police officers then broke the padlock and entered the house, where they found Shipo’s body lying on the bed with a pistol in his right hand.
The body was transported to the mortuary, and a police investigation is ongoing.
