THE Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund of Namibia has extended its heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the tragic crash that claimed two lives on Tuesday, 22 October 2024.

The crash occurred on Auas Road (bridge), heading towards the Truck Port near Grove Mall, Windhoek, at approximately 18:11.

The accident resulted in one entrapment and 11 injuries, ranging from severe to moderate.

According to records from the MVA Fund’s Call Centre, the entrapped passenger, an adult female, succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while the male driver passed away at Lady Pohamba Private Hospital.

“The MVA Fund encourages affected family members to visit the MVA Fund Service Centre in Windhoek for relevant claims such as funeral grants, injury grants, loss of support, and loss of income benefits. The Fund and its partners in the road safety sector implore all road users to be vigilant and thorough when preparing for travel,” said John Haufiku, MVA spokesperson.

He added that the MVA Fund reminds all road users to report crashes to the MVA Fund’s Toll-Free Accident Response Number, 9682, as doing so can save a life.
