A CASE of attempted murder is being investigated by the police in the Omusati Region after a 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed with an Okapi knife by a 49-year-old man.
Omusati’s Community Policing Sub-division Inspector, Anna Kunga, said that the incident occurred around 21:50 on Sunday at Maulus Cuca Shops in the Oshifo location.
“It is alleged that the suspect stabbed the victim with an Okapi knife once in the back and once under his armpit, causing serious injuries,” she said.
She added that the victim was transported to Omona Health Centre and was later transferred to Outapi State Hospital for medical treatment.
Kunga urged the public to refrain from carrying dangerous weapons in public places, such as cuca shops, to prevent further incidents.
She indicated that the suspect has been arrested and will be charged soon.
He is expected to appear before the Outapi Magistrate’s Court this week.
