THE 19th edition of the Tsumeb Copper Festival was officially launched on Friday, with the hope of making the town a hub of business opportunities.
The festival was first launched in 2003 and was held again after nearly two years of interruption due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
This year, the festival will run from 30 October to 02 November 2024 and will be held under the theme, “Celebrating Craftsmanship, Creativity, and Excellence in a Diverse Namibia.”
Town Mayor Mathews Hangula said that the festival will showcase the creativity and innovation that thrive in Tsumeb.
According to Hangula, the festival will also serve as a platform for promoting economic growth, fostering partnerships, and creating new opportunities for investors, entrepreneurs, and SMEs.
“As we look forward to the official festival launch in November, let us reflect on the bright future we can shape for Tsumeb and beyond,” he said.
He added that together, through collaboration, creativity, and a shared vision, they can continue building a prosperous and dynamic future for their town.
Meanwhile, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Tsumeb Municipality, Frans Enkali, indicated that collaboration with strategic partners is fundamental for driving economic development across all spheres of business development.
Enkali stressed that they are thrilled to be working together with strategic stakeholders, most importantly their sponsors.
“In line with its strategic vision, Tsumeb Municipality has placed SME development at the forefront of its efforts. At the same time, it is fervently aware that central to economic development is the transformation of ideas into tangible outcomes,” he concluded.
