There is a need to ensure that the Ondangwa Town Council maintains order if it is to grow the local economy.
This was according to Town Chief Executive Officer Ismael Namgongo, who stated that conducting business in an orderly manner is the only way to achieve and realise economic growth in the town.
Namgongo made the remarks during a public meeting held by the Oshana Police with local businesspeople on Thursday.

“For any town to grow, there must be plans in place that benefit the local businesspeople, who are the backbone of any town’s local economic growth. We should always strive to uplift them,” he said.
He added that the local businesspeople are the builders of any area, and without them, the town would not exist. Therefore, it is important to implement plans that benefit them.
Furthermore, Namgongo said they need to work in unison with the business community to help them grow, which in turn will stimulate the town’s economy.
He emphasised that the Town Council is committed to providing a conducive environment for businesses to thrive, and for everyone to have the opportunity to grow their enterprises. This can only be achieved through unity, while ensuring safety and security are in place.
Namgongo also urged local businesspeople to ensure they settle their municipal bills, explaining that this is essential for the town to put progress measures in place and support the growth of the local economy.
