THE Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA), in partnership with Deloitte Namibia, has launched a Whistleblower Hotline to provide a secure and confidential platform for reporting concerns such as fraud and corruption.
This was announced by NamRA’s Commissioner, Sam Shivute, who explained that the initiative demonstrates the agency’s ongoing commitment to transparency and integrity. He revealed that the hotline is available to NamRA employees, stakeholders, and the public, offering a platform to report various concerns such as corruption, fraud, bribery, tax evasion, money laundering, smuggling, drug trafficking, and other activities that are non-compliant with NamRA’s policies.
“To ensure neutrality and confidentiality, the hotline is managed by Deloitte, an independent consultant. Reports submitted will help NamRA uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and allow for the prompt and effective addressing of any violations,” Shivute said.
He added that concerned individuals can report their concerns to 0800 535 777, a toll-free number, or send an email to namra@tip-offs.com. Those who want more information can visit the website at www.tip-offs.com.
“Please note, the fraud hotline is intended solely for issues within NamRA’s jurisdiction. Complaints outside NamRA’s control may be referred to the appropriate law enforcement agencies,” Shivute added.
