CONTAINED: The Otavi Town Council has urged members of the public to remain calm and avoid spreading misinformation or disinformation after an underground fire broke out at the town today. Giving an update the Town Council has announced that an underground fire, which broke out earlier today, 18 September 2024, has been contained. The fire was ignited at an area where a charcoal producing plant used to operate in the past. However, the council added that it will continue to monitor the site to ensure safety and will update the public with any new information that may arise. Video: Social Media
