THE body of an unidentified man washed ashore today in Walvis Bay.
According to Chief Inspector Ileni Shapumba, the body was discovered on the morning of Friday, 13 September 2024, at around 07:30 at the Waterfront shore in Walvis Bay.
“It was alleged that an employee of Catamaran Charters was cleaning along the shore when he suddenly discovered the body of a male that had emerged from the water. Police attended to the matter, and upon preliminary investigations, the deceased was found with a backpack strapped to his chest, containing a wallet with documents and a large stone.
We have yet to trace the family or next of kin, and the police are investigating all circumstances surrounding the case. We will inform the public of our findings as soon as they become available,” Shapumba concluded.
