THREE African entrepreneurs were recognised for their outstanding businesses at the inaugural Chelete Cage Africa pitch event, part of the African Union Annual Micro, Small & Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) Forum.
According to the NIPDB, the winners presented their pitches and showcased remarkable potential and creativity.
The first prize went to Vitalis Haupindi of YYeni AI, a Namibian-owned app that acts as a tutor for learners and feeds information to the teacher’s assistant. The second prize was awarded to Janet Kabugho of Skills Centrum Rwenzori, a Ugandan company that aims to empower youth and women by providing training in crafting and soft business skills. The third prize went to Rosalia Neshuku of Namutse Fabrics, a Namibian business that sells a variety of quality African fabrics.
Haupindi won 5,000 U.S Dollars (USD) from ImpactHer, N$50,000 from Momentum Namibia, USD 100,000 in credits from Amazon Web Services, a laptop, one-on-one mentorship from the International Trade Center, and a fully funded trip to the 2025 International African Trade Fair.
Kabugho won USD 1,500 from ImpactHer, N$30,000 from Momentum Namibia, USD 100,000 in credits from Amazon Web Services, a laptop, two-on-one mentorship from the International Trade Center, and a fully funded trip to the 2025 International African Trade Fair.
Neshuku won USD 1,000 from ImpactHer, N$20,000 from Momentum Namibia, USD 100,000 in credits from Amazon Web Services, a laptop, three-on-one mentorship from the International Trade Center, and a fully funded trip to the 2025 International African Trade Fair.
