THE Ministry of Sport, Youth, and National Service, in collaboration with the Local Organizing Committee and the National Youth Council (Regional Youth Forum), will be hosting the Outapi SME Youth Expo next month.
The expo is scheduled for 3 to 6 October 2024.
In a statement issued on Thursday, ministry spokesperson Aina Shikesho said that their mandate is to promote sports and empower the youth of Namibia.
“The Ministry had previously hosted the Youth Expo in 2018. However, the event was temporarily suspended due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and logistical challenges,” she said.
She explained that the objective of the expo is to empower and provide exposure to aspiring young entrepreneurs by offering them opportunities for networking, business exchanges, and showcasing their products.
Moreover, she said that the event will feature approximately 50 young entrepreneurs, artists, and beauty pageant participants.
Additionally, Shikesho said that the Ministry plans to mobilize fifteen young entrepreneurs to participate in the upcoming expo.
