THE Namibian police in the Erongo Region have arrested a man who allegedly hit and killed a cyclist with his car and fled the scene.
The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Fillip Haingura.
According to Chief Inspector Ileni Shapumba of the Erongo Region, the culpable homicide incident occurred on Tuesday, 27 August 2024, at about 06:50 on Hannah Mupetami Road, Walvis Bay.
“It is alleged that the suspect, driving a motor vehicle with registration number N28860 WB, recklessly or negligently hit a cyclist, causing serious injuries. The victim succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the hospital.” Shapumba said.
