THE global economic crisis has impacted businesses of all sizes, and Eenhana is no exception, according to Town Mayor Omri-Onn Kavandje.
Kavandje was speaking during the official opening of the Eenhana Trade and Business Expo held on Wednesday.
According to Kavandje, the expo aims to empower residents and Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) by introducing them to new business strategies such as networking, information sharing, innovative ideas, diversification, and forming new partnerships.
Kavandje indicated that events like this are crucial as they provide direct access to potential customers and sales leads.
“Despite the uncertainties and costs involved in running a business, it is essential to embrace technology and innovative ideas to remain relevant and diversify income streams,” he said.
Furthermore, Kavandje stated that the Eenhana Expo is a key factor in their strategic plan for economic development, complementing government efforts towards Vision 2030, NDP-5/6, and the Harambee Prosperity Plan 2.
The expo’s main sponsor, Ali Dharani of the Rani Group of Companies, said that they aim to build partnerships with every Namibian to strengthen the country’s economy.
Dharani indicated that, as part of their efforts, they have employed over 5,000 people within their 12 regions of operation and have over 60 retail stores.
Of those employed, they created jobs for 350 people in the Ohangwena Region alone and have opened stores in the towns of Oshikango, Ohangwena, Onhuno, Ongha, Ondobe, and Eenhana, with plans to open a store in Okongo, hoping to create 100 jobs with an investment of N$20 million.
Additionally, Dharani indicated that they have supported the people through various activities facilitated by the offices of the governors within the 14 regions.
