IN an effort to raise funds and assist in building their circuit for the benefit of the Namibian child, the Oshikuku Circuit is expected to host its expo and sports tournament this coming Friday.

The Oshikuku Circuit first introduced hosting the expo last year.

The event, slated for 2-4 August 2024, aims to bring people from various ministries to one spot for the purpose of team building.

Chairperson of the organising committee, John Sheyavali, in an interview with Nampa on Wednesday, said that all schools from Oshikuku come together to host the event yearly with the purpose of raising school funds and meeting the government halfway.

“We are coming together for the purpose of team building for the teachers in the circuit to know each other and learn various methods of teaching to benefit the learners,” he said.

Further, in terms of the tournament, Sheyavali indicated that they expect to host a soccer tournament for all the ministries, with the hope of building lasting relations among the various ministries.

“We have also invited some corporate companies like Indongo Toyota, Jan Japan, Comet Stationery, and FNB Oshakati, just to name a few, to provide their services during the event,” he said.

He added that during the tournament, the winner is expected to walk away with N$5,000, a trophy, and gold medals, while the runner-up will walk away with N$3,500 and silver medals.

Sheyavali said that they will not be having any third or fourth place runner-ups.

“Our hope is to ensure that our event becomes bigger and better to introduce more sporting codes and other activities,” he added.

He then called on the business community to support their expo, saying that this is a social responsibility for all.
