AT the Onakathila Combined School, situated around 15 kilometres north of Oniipa, learners both past and present continue to contribute to education by making excellent education a priority.
This was evident when Twagongala Fishing Company recently donated items worth N$10,000 to the school.
The donation includes school uniforms and boxes of paper reams that will benefit the learners, teachers, and the school.
Company Director Wicklief Mvula said that he was once a learner at Onakathila CS and saw the need to give back to his foundational school.
“I saw that there was a need at the school, hence the donation,” he said, adding that the donation forms part of their corporate social responsibility.
He emphasized that basic education is key, and one needs to invest in it for future generations to benefit.
According to Mvula, they are also expected to donate to a school in the Erongo Region, which will be announced at a later stage.
