THE National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) has suspended its Terminal Manager at the National Oil Storage Facility (NOSF) in Walvis Bay, Ellis Egumbo, effective 25 July 2024.
The suspension was triggered by the loss of product/stock and the loss of commercial documentation at the facility.
In February this year, Namcor discovered the loss of fuel loaded onto trucks worth N$1 million, involving a total of 69 trucks.
To date, four people have been arrested in relation to the theft: Graham Platt (46), Simeon Shilongo (38), Jason Malika (26), and Denzel Malinga (21), the nephew of the suspended Namcor managing director, Immanuel Malunga.
Paulo Coelho, Namcor spokesperson, said that the suspension aims to facilitate a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter.
“Namcor reiterates its steadfast commitment to upholding the highest standards of commercial transparency and ethics in all its interactions with stakeholders,” Coelho concluded.
