Brave Warriors performance celebrated

THE Brave Warriors, who participated in the recently concluded COSAFA Cup, are still seen as champions despite losing the final to Angola on Sunday.

Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah hosted the Warriors for dinner on Tuesday after they returned from the COSAFA Cup.

Nandi-Ndaitwah said that as Namibians, they are proud because the Warriors have represented the country well.

“Your performance was remarkable in reaching the finals of the COSAFA Cup 2024,” she said.

She indicated that the government is working hard, and by next month, a contract would be awarded to the successful bidder in order for the renovations of the stadium to start.

Nandi-Ndaitwah said that she firmly believes sports and the creative industry should be added to the main economic industries.

“I have done my homework, and given N$8 billion, every Namibian constituency will be able to have a standard sports field, with a netball, volleyball, basketball court, and a soccer pitch,” she added.

“Every regional capital should have at least a Grade 2 sports complex and five Grade 3 level stadiums, and it is possible.”
