HILYA Nghipangelwa, the 58-year-old resident of Oshakati who was arrested over the weekend for the alleged crime of possessing illicit fuel, was remanded in custody when she appeared in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
She was apprehended at a house in the Oshikango informal settlement of Oshakati West on Saturday morning when she was found in possession of 38 containers, each containing 25 litres of fuel, valued at N$21,256.
Two other fuel smugglers were arrested in the area of Ongwediva when they were found in possession of a drum of fuel, apparently imported illegally from neighbouring Angola.
