THE Namibian Police Force has urged members of the public to visit the Police Mortuary in Windhoek to identify the body of a man who was found slumped over a power transmission tower in Khomasdal, Windhoek.

According to Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi of the Namibian Police, the suicide/electrocution incident happened on Wednesday, 3 July 2024, at about 07:30, in Khomasdal behind the Namibian Training Authority (NTA) on Mahatma Gandhi Street.

“It is alleged that a passerby saw the body of a person hanging (stuck) from an electricity transmission tower and alerted the police. While at the scene, it was observed that the body is of a male person who was wearing blue jogging pants and a black jersey, both with white stripes. The body has not been identified, and the next of kin have not been informed. The motive is unknown, and the investigation continues,” Shikwambi said.

She added that for identification purposes, the Police Mortuary can be visited.
