Government provides support to families affected by Walvis Bay fire

THE government will contribute N$10,000 in funeral support to the family of Lineekela Ndeumyema (38) and Linea Kombada (16), the mother and daughter who lost their lives after a fire broke out in their home in Kuisebmond, Walvis Bay, last Wednesday.

This was confirmed by the Office of the Prime Minister’s Executive Director, Rhingo Mutambo, who also revealed that the government donated various items to the six families left homeless by the fire. The donation, made through the National Emergency Disaster Fund (NEDF), was delivered to the office of the Erongo Region’s Governor.

Mutambo said that the donated items include six tents, 13 mattresses, seven blankets, four bags of 20 kilograms (kg) maize meal per family, 12 bottles of 750 millilitres (ml) cooking oil per family, and 24 packs of tinned fish per family.
