A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy, identified as Mario Ilenikuye Mumbala from Okadhiya Koshumba village in the Omusati region, drowned while trying to fetch water.
According to Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, Crime Investigations Coordinator in the Omusati region, the unnatural death incident happened on Tuesday, 28 May 2024, at about 19:00 in Okadhiya Koshumba village, Elim constituency, Omusati region.
“It is alleged that the deceased fell in a water pond while trying to fetch water and he drowned,” Simaho said.
He added that the next of kin were informed, and the deceased’s body was transported to Okahao Police Mortuary for a postmortem to determine the real cause of death. Police investigation continues, and no foul play is suspected.
