A 14-YEAR-OLD girl was allegedly gang-raped by two suspects who are both her uncles.
One suspect, a 46-year-old Angolan National, was arrested, but the other suspect is still on the run.
The police reported that the alleged crime occurred in a traditional homestead in the Etunda village, Ruacana Constituency of the Omusati Region, between the 6th and the 8th of May.
It is alleged that the two suspects, who are both uncles to the victim, entered her sleeping room while she was asleep during the night. One suspect held the victim’s arms and threatened her with a knife while the other man covered her mouth with his hand and raped her. The other suspect also raped her afterwards.
According to the police, the suspects threatened the victim with death should she dare report the incident to her parents or to the police.
The suspects face a case of rape involving domestic violence and alcohol abuse.
The arrested suspect who is a resident of Ondjiva, Angola, is expected to appear in the Magistrate’s court on Thursday.
