THE Oluno Circuit of Education in the Oshana Region has cancelled its Common Circuit examination for May/June due to financial constraints that schools find themselves in.
According to a letter addressed to school principals by Oluno Circuit’s acting Inspector, Elvi Wapota, the circuit’s Examination Committee has resolved that schools write the normal school-based tests at their designated time.
Wapota urged school principals and heads of departments (HODs) to ensure that such tests are of good quality and to issue progress reports to parents at the end of the semester.
The cancellation does not affect other circuits as the Common Circuit Exams were Oluno Circuit’s unique and innovative way of ensuring the same standard at all schools within the circuit, which, however, proved costly and time-consuming.
