Outapi completes sewer and water services project

IN order to ensure quality service for the residents of Outapi, the Outapi Town Council has officially completed the construction of sewer and water services at Extension 20.

The project was carried out at a cost of N$1.6 million and took the Council four months to complete.

Town Mayor Selma Asino-Shaumbako said that the N$1.6 million investment by the Council represents a substantial commitment to the community’s infrastructure. According to Asino-Shaumbako, designed to serve 55 erven, the completion of this initiative holds the promise of enriching residents’ lives by providing access to vital services and fostering overall community well-being.


“The completion of the Municipal Infrastructure Project is a significant milestone for Outapi, Extension 20, and indeed for our entire community,” she said.

She added that this investment not only addresses immediate infrastructure needs but also sets the stage for sustainable growth and development in the years to come.

Moreover, Asino-Shaumbako indicated that the comprehensive nature of the project underscores the council’s commitment to prioritizing the town’s development and ensuring that essential services are readily accessible to all residents.

“By investing in infrastructure that supports the needs of the community, the council aims to create an environment where residents can thrive and prosper,” she added.

On his part, Town Chief Executive Officer, Mateus Ananias, commended the dedication and hard work of all involved.

He said the completion of the Municipal Infrastructure Project is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the council, municipal staff, and community members.

“Together, we have achieved a significant milestone that will have a lasting impact on the well-being of our residents,” he said.

He added that residents of Outapi, Extension 20, can look forward to the tangible benefits that the completed infrastructure project will bring, including improved access to clean water and sanitation facilities.
