PRESIDENT Nangolo Mbumba has urged Namibians to prioritise road safety this Easter weekend by driving responsibly and showing respect towards law enforcement officers.

“Steer clear of any conduct that is hurtful towards the interests of other Namibians, drive safely, and show respect towards law enforcement officers. I also encourage law enforcement to redouble their efforts to ensure that we have a crime-free weekend,” the president said.

Additionally, President Mbumba emphasised the significance of Easter in Namibia, urging citizens to reflect on the values of sacrifice, compassion, and love.

“In the Christian calendar, Easter is a period of commemoration and reflection about the deeds of sacrifice, compassion, and love. Namibia is a Christian nation, and it is for that reason that we observe this special weekend in our calendar. In commemorating the Easter weekend, I encourage Namibians to recommit to the values of compassion, sacrifice, and care for one another as we collectively build a peaceful, safe, and prosperous Namibian House,” President Mbumba said.

Furthermore, the president wished all a happy and safe Easter weekend.

“I wish you all in the Christian family a Happy and Safe Easter Weekend,” President Mbumba added.
