NamRa announces progress on TransKalahari – Mamuno One-Stop Border Post construction

Staff Reporter

THE Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) has announced that construction of the TransKalahari – Mamuno one-stop border post is currently underway and scheduled for completion in May.

According to NamRA’s Chief Strategic Communications and Support Engagements, Yarukeekuro Ndorokaze, the one-stop border post is expected to streamline border control procedures, alleviate congestion, and reduce long waiting times at the border, while also enhancing the smooth movement of goods and people.

“This project aligns with the Bilateral Agreement between the Republic of Namibia and the Republic of Botswana on the establishment of the one-stop border post,” Ndorokaze said.

He further explained that this agreement was finalized during the inaugural session of the Bi-National Commission (BNC) between the two countries held from 5 to 9 September 2022.

“We kindly urge our stakeholders to exercise utmost patience, understanding, and caution during the construction period,” Ndorokaze added.
