PRESIDENT Nangolo Mbumba kick-started his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) this afternoon in a joint session of the National Assembly and the National Council by requesting members to observe “the final minute of silence” in honour of late President Hage Geingob. He said that the late President Geingob provided good leadership at a time when Namibia needed it most.
Having enumerated the achievements and ongoing government activities, President Mbumba reminded the nation about the impending Presidential and National Assembly elections and appealed to political parties, their leaders, and Namibians in general to ensure peaceful elections. He emphasized that the late President Geingob worked very hard to maintain peace and stability in the country.
