THE Northern power utility, NORED, has announced a power outage scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, which will affect several villages and locations in the Oshana and Ohangwena regions.
On Saturday, a power outage lasting from 08:00 to 10:00 will affect several villages and locations in the Ondangwa Rural and Uukwiyuushona constituencies. During the power outage, NORED will be tying in a new overhead line.
On Sunday, the whole of Ongwediva town and surrounding villages will be affected by a power outage while NORED and NamPower conduct maintenance from 07:30 to 16:30. NORED’s announcement says that, also on Sunday, parts of the border town of Helao Nafidi and the surrounding villages will be affected by a power outage from 07:30 to 16:30. NORED will be cutting overgrowth trees, fixing a skew pole, tensioning a power line near a taxi rank, relocating fuse links, and replacing a rotten pole in a graveyard.
