A COUNCILLOR from the Omaheke Regional council has been arrested for the rape of a 19-year-old man.
According to Chief Inspector Elifas Kuwinga of the Namibian police, the incident occurred on Tuesday, 13 February 2024, at around 09:00 at the Omaheke Regional Council office Tower in Epako, Gobabis District.
Kuwinga said that it is alleged that the 19-year-old Namibian male victim went to the Governor’s office to obtain important documents and encountered the 34-year-old Namibian male suspect outside.
“The suspect instructed the victim to follow him to the toilet within the building premises. It is further alleged that the victim followed the suspect to the toilet where he was raped. Police investigation is underway and the suspect is under arrest,” Kuwinga concluded.
