THE police in Oshikoto Region have arrested a 38-year-old woman for fatally stabbing her 28-year-old boyfriend with a screwdriver at King Service Station in Olumbongo, Oniipa, Oshikoto Region.
Chief Inspector Ellen Nahale, Head of the Community Policing Sub-division in Oshikoto, reported that the incident occurred on Saturday following an argument between the couple.
“The altercation took place when he arrived home late and intoxicated, around 03:00, and found his girlfriend sleeping. The suspect then confronted him about the whereabouts of her car and demanded the car keys,” she explained.
After receiving the keys, the suspect walked to the service station where the car was parked, with the deceased following her carrying an empty beer bottle. At the service station, another argument ensued, leading to the deceased smashing the car windows with the empty bottles.
“He then grabbed a screwdriver from the car and attempted to stab the suspect, who managed to overpower him, seize the screwdriver, and fatally stab him once in the neck,” Nahale added.
The deceased was rushed to Onandjokwe State Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Nahale said that a case of murder, coupled with domestic violence provisions, has been opened.
