TWO men, aged 29 and 32, were reportedly arrested for the gang rape of a 27-year-old mentally-challenged woman at Onyati location in Oshikoto’s Onyaanya Constituency, while a third suspect is yet to be apprehended.
Oshikoto Regional Commander Commissioner Teopolina Kalompo-Nashikaku said that the incident, which occurred last week, was recently reported to the Namibian Police.
According to Kalompo-Nashikaku, it is alleged that the victim entered a certain cucashop where she found three men at the time of the incident.
“One of them grabbed her around her waist and then removed her dress, and all three suspects allegedly raped her,” she said.
After the assault, they threatened to kill her if she told anyone. However, upon arriving home, she informed her grandmother about the incident.
The two arrested suspects are expected to appear before the Ondangwa magistrate court this week.
