THE Namibian police in the Omusati Region have arrested a 40-year-old female suspect following the death of her 30-month-old nephew. It is alleged that the suspect, a resident of Okafitukakuni village in the Outapi Constituency, assaulted Susan Noongo with a dry palm stick around 14:00 on Tuesday. As a result, Susan suffered a broken right arm and lost consciousness.
As the child’s condition deteriorated, she was taken to the nearest clinic around 18:00, where she was declared dead. The suspect is expected to appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s court on a charge of murder.
