TIGERS Football Club Chairman, Nelson Akwenye, has confirmed that their team members were involved in a harrowing car accident early this morning.

The incident occurred as they were en route back to Windhoek after a tire burst on the vehicle they were travelling in following their Debmarine Namibia Premiership matches played in the northern parts of the country on Sunday. The accident took place approximately 90 kilometres from Okahandja.
The vehicle carried a group of Tigers’ players and staff, including Tangeni Shipahu, Shane van Wyk, Lleyton Goliath, medic Julia Alweendo, goalkeeper coach Tiro Thlabanelo, team manager Heikke Amashisha, and coach Protash Kabwe.
The soccer players, however, are reported to be in stable condition and have successfully made their way back to Windhoek. The only exception is Lleyton Goliath, whose condition remains closely monitored as he was airlifted to Windhoek earlier. The extent of his injuries and the specifics of his medical condition were not disclosed.
