SITUATED approximately 48km North East of Omuthiya, the Onamishu Combined School is expected to host its annual tournament this month.
The tournament is slated for 22-24 September 2023, at the school ground.
School sports organizer Twakulilwa Sheefeni said they are committed to providing equitable, accessible, and quality education to Namibian children.
He said this is done through quality teaching and engaging them in extracurricular activities to acquire knowledge and skills that enable them to be productive and globally competitive citizens.
According to Sheefeni, so far, eight teams have confirmed their participation in this year’s tournament.
“We have four sports codes: soccer, netball, boxing, and a beauty pageant,” he said.
In the soccer category, the winner will walk away with N$2,000, a floating trophy, and gold medals.
Meanwhile, the second runner-up will take home N$1,400 and silver medals, while the third-place winner will get N$850 and bronze medals.
Sheefeni indicated that in the netball category, the winner will receive N$1,000, a floating trophy, and gold medals.
The second runner-up will walk away with N$700 and silver medals, and the third-place winner will get N$550 and bronze medals.
