ABNER Nuule, one of the framers of the Namibian Constitution and a prominent leader of the Uukwambi traditional community, has died. He was aged 88.
Nuule was among the 21 representatives of the DTA (now PDM) in the 72-member Constituent Assembly elected during the UN-supervised elections of 1989.
He went on to serve as a member of the first (1990-1995) National Assembly before retiring from active politics to concentrate on the affairs of his Otuwala District of Uukwambi as senior traditional councillor.
A relative said that family members and Uukwambi Traditional leaders will meet soon – possibly on Thursday – to kick-start the funeral preparations.
