A drastic change in temperature is expected in the next week as the country’s interior is likely to become extremely cold in a matter of days.
This is supported by Namibia Meteorological Services’ latest weather forecast, which indicates that some parts of the country’s interior will become extremely cold next week. This extremely cold weather, expected to start on Tuesday, will mostly be felt in the southern, central, and eastern parts of the country.
According to Namibia Meteorological Services, cold conditions are expected to persist throughout the week in the aforementioned regions. Crop and stock farmers are therefore advised to prepare accordingly.
However, before temperatures drop, most parts of the interior can expect a warm to hot weekend, with Saturday bringing maximum temperatures ranging between 25°C and 29°C, as well as windy conditions.
In the South, Mariental, Aroab, Keetmanshoop, and Aus are expected to record minimum temperatures ranging between 6°C and 8°C and maximum temperatures ranging between 22°C and 26°C on Saturday.

The aforementioned places are among the areas that will be affected by the cold weather next week. However, this weekend, the maximum temperatures expected in these places are not significantly lower than those in the North, where many areas are expected to reach temperatures as high as 29°C.
In the Northeast, Katima Mulilo, in the Zambezi Region, and Rundu, in the Kavango East Region, are expected to record minimum temperatures ranging between 6°C and 7°C and maximum temperatures of 28°C on Saturday. In the Northwest, Kunene Region’s Khorixas will likely record a minimum temperature of 8°C and a maximum temperature of 28°C.
Oshakati, in the Oshana Region, and Eenhana, in the Ohangwena Region, can also expect minimum temperatures ranging between 8°C and 9°C and maximum temperatures of 29°C on Saturday.
In contrast, the coast is expected to experience partly cloudy and mild conditions with fog patches on Saturday. In this regard, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, and Henties Bay are expected to record minimum temperatures ranging between 7°C and 12°C, with maximum temperatures ranging between 16°C and 17°C.
