THE Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism has won the bid to host the Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit and Challenge, which is the only Pan-African youth and start-up tourism summit on the continent. The summit will be hosted in Swakopmund, in the Erongo Region, from 30 May to 2 June. This will be the fifth edition of this continental event, which comes after the ministry successfully hosted the fourth edition of the summit in Windhoek last year.
According to the ministry’s Media and Awareness Sub-Committee, the summit is open to all interested youth, start-ups, and professionals in the tourism, travel, hospitality, aviation, academia, technology sectors, and other related industries.
“It is an exclusive platform provided to innovative African youth in the travel and tourism industry looking for funding, partnership, and mentorship opportunities to present their projects to the global marketplace to find the required support for their programs,” the sub-committee explained.
Interested individuals, professionals, and organizations who want to attend the summit can register for free at www.youthtourismsummit.com. For any inquiries, the public is advised to contact Iyaloo Hamunyela at 081 493 4859 or Rejoice Chishamba at +27 113 181 741/+27 81 303 7030.
“We encourage interested parties to register at their earliest convenience to partake in the youth summit,” the sub-committee added.
