ANOTHER case of a baby drowning in a bucket of water has been recorded in the Omusati Region.
This is just three days after the police reported a drowning incident involving Ruben Shilongo Kamati (a one year and four months old baby) at Uukwalumbe Village in the Okahao Constituency.
On Independence Day, an eleven-month-old baby boy instantly died after drowning in a bucket of water at Otjorute village- Ruacana Constituency.
The deceased was identified as Utuzuva Ngombe.
Crime Investigation Coordinator Deputy, Commissioner Moses Simaho said the deceased was left at home with two other minors aged two and seven years old by his guardian at the time of the incident.
“As there was no water in the house, the oldest minor allegedly went too fetch (2× 5L) of water and poured it in the bucket. While busy making fire, the deceased drowned in the bucket,” he said.
It’s still not clear how the deceased drowned, however police investigation into the matter are underway.
Simaho indicated that the deceased body has been transported to Okahao police mortuary for a post mortem examination.
