IMMANUEL Shikongo, (40) who is accused of raping his 15-year-old niece last week had on Monday morning testified in the Oshakati Magistrate that he was bewitched to sleep with her.
The 40-year-old resident of Oshaale Shoonkoshi village in the Oshana region made those testimonies in a brief court appearance and was subsequently denied bail.
“I am bewitched to sleep with her. I woke up with a spirit telling me to have sex with her. I can’t believe I raped her and I also didn’t use a condom because there were no condoms in my room”, testified Shikongo.
According to the police’s initial crime report issued by deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, the victim was home alone with her uncle at the time of the incident.
It was reported that the uncle had grabbed the victim on the arm, pulled her into his sleeping room and raped her.
Insofar as the matter is concerned, his case is postponed to the 9th of May 2023 for the continuation of his pre-trial.
