THE police in Erongo arrested seven people for driving under the influence of alcohol on Wednesday night.
This is according to police Inspector Ileni Shapumba, saying one of the suspects was arrested in the Tutaleni area of Walvis Bay and another one in Swakopmund.
Shapumba said five of the suspects were arrested at the Roadblocks in Walvis Bay.
“People should not have such courage of passing through the checkpoints whilst above the alcohol limit,” he said.
He added that police checkpoints are established at various points during the festive season and anyone found at the wrong side of the law will be dealt with accordingly.
