A 28-year-old female resident of the Oshaakondwa village in the Oshikoto Region was arrested by the police after she allegedly strangled her seven-month-old son, nearly killing him.
The regional police commander Theopolina Kalompo-Nashikaku said that the baby survived, but sustained bruises on the neck.
The suspect now faces charges of assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm and domestic violence.
