A MAN has been arrested for illicit goods at the Oshivelo checkpoint on Sunday evening.
Oshikoto police commander commissioner Theopoline Kalompo-Nashikaku identified the suspect as 37-year-old from Omafo village in the Ohangwena Region.
Kalompo-Nashikaku said the suspect was arrested during the police search.
She indicated that the suspect was found with 23 boxes plus two bags of best whiskeys a value of N$27 600 and 25 packets of yes cigarettes with a value of N$20 000.
The suspect is due to appear before Tsumeb Magistrate Court this week on charge of Act 20/1998 of customs and exercise, possession of illicit goods
Police investigation into the matter continues.
