EDISON Nghipondoka well known as “Bulelo” from Team Bulelo Boxing Gym claims victory on Saturday evening after defeating his opponent Nuuyoma December from MTC-Kilimanjaro Boxing Club.
The two went head-on in the 66.68kg division for welterweight.
Nghipondoka now holds a record of 12 fights, six wins and six losses, while his opponent holds a record of five fights and five losses.
He stated that it was a great fight and had well prepared for December.
“This was one of the greatest fights in my boxing career, but I have respect for my opponent because he’s the only boxer that gave me a cut on my eye, but I still continue to fight like a champ,” he said.
Nghipondoka indicated that he is still left with one fight for welterweight slotted for 19 November in Windhoek.
And after that, Nghipondoka wants to move down to the Junior welterweight title and promises to challenge whoever holds the national title.
Another exciting bout was displayed by Fabian Lamek from MTC-Kilimanjaro Boxing Club and Shanyengange Shanyengange from Chris Junior Boxing Gym where the two had a tie.
For many, the two display technic and skills making it impossible for judges to have a winner in their four rounds bout.
The two went head-on in the 53.52kg division for bantamweight.
Lamek now holds a record of four fights, one wins and two lose and one draw while Shanyengange holds a record of two fights, one loss and one draw.
