EXCITING boxing was on display during the Teremoto Boxing Bonanza held at the Ongwediva Multi-purpose Centre on Saturday evening.
The event, which ran under the theme ‘Judgement day’, saw 14 amateur bouts from various northern clubs and academies.
Founder of Teremoto, Emvula Emvula, said the event did not live up to its full potential due to various technicalities and several things did not go as planned because of some of the people’s lack of commitment.
Emvula stated that the involvement of politics into the arts of boxing is slowly destroying the developmental process of their fighters. However, that is a learning curve for them.
He indicated that they have a full calendar and the public might expect two more bonanzas before they conclude for the year.
“The aim is to ensure that our fighters get the most fights and greatest of challenges,” he said.
He added that Teremoto is the way forward and they are here to develop boxing in the country.
“This marks the new era of boxing and entertainment,” he concluded.
