THE North can expect very hot conditions on Saturday as many northern towns are expected to record maximum temperatures ranging between 34°C and 37 °C, with the highest temperatures expected in the Oshana Region as well as in the north-eastern parts of the country.
This is according to weather predictions by Namibian Meteorological Services, which indicate that Ondangwa will likely experience the brunt of this heat as the town is expected to record a minimum temperature of 19°C, with a maximum temperature of 37°C.
Oshakati, Rundu and Katima Mulilo are also expected to be very hot on Saturday as these towns are expected to record minimum temperatures ranging between 18°C and 19°C, with maximum temperatures of 36°C.
In the Ohangwena Region, Helao Nafidi and Okongo are expected to record minimum temperatures of 17°C and 16°C respectively, with maximum temperatures of 35°C and 34°C. In the north-west, Outjo and Okakarara, in the Kunene Region, and Okahao, in the Omusati Region, are expected to record minimum temperatures ranging between 15°C and 17°C, with maximum temperatures ranging between 34°C and 35°C.
While the rest of the interior will likely not record temperatures as high as the North, warm and hot conditions can still be expected. According to Namibia Meteorological Services, this will likely be accompanied with partly cloudy and windy conditions.
In the Centre, Windhoek and Rehoboth are predicted to record minimum temperatures of 14°C and 16°C respectively, with maximum temperatures of 31°C.
In the South, Aroab, Keetmanshoop and Karasburg, in the //Kharas Region, are expected to record minimum temperatures of 14°C, with maximum temperatures ranging between 29°C and 31°C. Mariental, in the Hardap Region, can expect a minimum temperature of 14°C and a maximum temperature of 33°C.
In contrast to the interior, the Coast can expect milder weather, which will likely be accompanied with partly cloudy conditions and patches of fog. Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, !Nami#nus and Henties Bay will likely record minimum temperatures of 8°C, 9°C, 11°C and 12°C respectively and maximum temperatures ranging between 19°C and 22°C.
