PRESIDENT Hage Geingob congratulated the bronze medallist, Even Tjiuiju, for his performance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, as Ananias Shikongo’s guide, and shared his regrets for excluding Tjiuiju from the initial congratulatory message.

“The Presidency wholeheartedly regrets the omission of Even Tjiuiju’s name in yesterday’s congratulatory Media Release,” the presidency said.
This comes after the president gave a special congratulatory shout-out to Ananias Shikongo, Alexander Miller, Helalia Johannes and Christine Mboma for representing the country at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and winning bronze medals in their respective categories.

Tjiuiju, who also won a bronze medal as he came third in the 100m (T12) race with Shikongo, was excluded from the presidency’s initial congratulatory message.

The president shared his regrets for the omission and thanked all five bronze medallists for representing the country and carrying the Namibian flag high.

“It is my pleasure to congratulate every team member from the Land of the Brave who represented the country with pride and dedication,” the president reiterated.
