NAMIBIAN sprinter and Olympic star, Beatrice Masilingi, has reportedly picked up an injury at the World Athletics Championships, currently being held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, United States, from July 15–24, 2022.

The Olympic star first suffered a hamstring injury during the women’s 100m at the Gaborone International Meet in Botswana on April 30, 2022, which kept her out of the game for some time.
“My hamstring started to bother me, so I didn’t to push any longer because I might damage it again” She said in a video interview.

Masilingi ended last (24.78) in the second semifinal of the women’s 200m race, with US’ Tamara Clark winning the heat (21.95), followed by Dina Asher-Smith of Great Britain (21.96). World Champion Elaine Thompson-Herah of Jamaica came third in 21.97s.

The women’s 200m final will be contested by the three Jamaican top sprinters; Elain Thompson-Herah, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Shericka Jackson, as well as Tamara Clarkson of the United States of America and many others.
