THREE minors and one female adult were the recent raped people in Omusati Region and a case of investigation has already been launched.
The victims are aged 9, 13, 14 and 25, with only one suspect apprehended, while three others are known and yet to be arrested by the police.
According to Crime Coordinator Moses Simaho, the nine-year-old victim was allegedly raped some times in May at unknown date and time, by her 17-year-old cousin at Okando village.
However, Simaho indicated that the matter was only brought to the attention of the police recently after the victim’s mother alerted the police.
Simaho stated that the suspect is not arrested, but the matter involves domestic violence.
At Ondatsila village, the 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by 20-year-old Angolan national man, last week Tuesday.
“It is alleged that the suspect grabbed the minor from the back, laid her down and raped her,” said Simaho.
Simaho added that the suspect has already been arrested.
Meanwhile, at Onamulunga village of the Omusati’s Outapi Constituency, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a known suspect on the 5th of July. Simaho stated that the matter was reported by the victim’s biological mother.
“Suspect is not yet arrested. No domestic violence or alcohol abuse involved,” he added.
Further, a 25-year-old woman was raped at Oneeya Village.
According to Simaho, the incident occurred last week Thursday, and the suspect who is allegedly known by the victim is not yet arrested.
“It is alleged that the suspect threatened to beat the victim with a knobkerrie, then instructed the victim to undress herself which she did and raped her,” he said.
Simaho added no domestic violence is involved in the matter and that police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
