THE two men suspected to have murdered the 17-year-old Felix Disho Thikundeko from the Mukwee Constinuencey in Katima Mulio, were on Monday morning denied bail after making their first court appearance in the Mukwe Periodic Court.
The murder suspects, Kandere Alexander (36) and Degwe Steven (22), are each charged with two counts of murder and defeating the course of Justice.
The arrest of the two suspects followed the police investigation which revealed that the two men were the ones last seen with the deceased, who went missing at the Rudhiva Village on June 26th 2022. They are suspected to have killed Thikundeko with an unknown object, and subsequently abandoned his lifeless body in the Kavango River, an attempt to defeat the course of Justice.
The suspects were allegedly also found in possession of the victim’s belongings; a cap and sandals.
Thikundeko, who was missing for five days was discovered alongside the Kavango River with several body organs missing. These included his left leg, some flesh from his right arm and the tips of his fingers, while his stomach had an open wound. It was further alleged that the deceased penis was also missing from the body.
The case is adjourned to 5th October 2022, as the police investigations are still at a preliminary stage.
