THE 65-year-old man accused of shooting his 51-year-old brother, Johannes Hanghome, on Sunday remains in custody.

The accused, Phillip Hanghome, on Tuesday made a brief appearance in the Ohangwena Magistrate’s Court. The case was postponed to 24 August for further police investigation and legal aid.

According to Ohangwena crime coordinator Deputy Commissioner Amakali Zachariah, the accused allegedly shot the victim in the chest and right leg, which lead to his death.

The incident occurred on Sunday at around 18:40 in Okatope village.

It’s further alleged that Johannes went to Phillip’s house and started an argument with him which escalated into physical fighting.

The accused then went into the house and when he came out he shot the victim outside the house.
